Srinagar

SRINAGAR

The first gem of our Kashmir tours is Srinagar which is called the mirror to the mountains. The city is dominated by Dal Lake which gives a beautiful reflection of surrounding mountains. The twisting waterways, the Jhelum River and tree-lined Nagin Lake make walking around the city a never forgettable experience. You can enjoy a Shikara cruise and a troll in the 400-year old Mughal Gardens. There is a big market of indigenous crafts like handmade silk and embroidered shawls. It also serves as a base location to visit another area of J&K and Ladakh, Dras sector, Kargil, and Baramulla.

The second gem is Sonmarg which is called Meadow of Gold. It is surrounded by lakes and glaciers which present a mesmerizing view. It is situated at an altitude of 2800 meters en route to Ladakh. There is no permanent settlement in Sonmarg. It is closed during the winter season due to snow and avalanche. It is an ideal place for nature lovers. When you visit Kashmir, don’t forget Sonmarg; nature and tranquility will elevate your spirit. Many tourists come here for an adventure like mountaineering and trekking. Famous tourist attractions are Nilagrad River, Gangabal, Zoji-La Pass, Vishansar Lake and Thajiwas Glacier.

Gulmarg

The third gem of Kashmir tours is Gulmarg which is called Meadow of Flowers. It is a cup-shaped meadow with lush green landscape. Silence is broken here with the tinkle of cowbells. Tourists primarily come here for horse riding/ hiking, cable car riding to khilanmarg, playing golf and snow skiing during winter months of December and March. Famous places of attractions are Alpather Lake, the Ningli Nallah, and Firozpur Nallah.

Pahalgam

The fourth gem of the itinerary is Pahalgam. It is a hill station situated at an altitude of 7200 feet. The aggressively flowing Lidder River makes more picturesque. The river is also the famous location for trout fishing. Tourists indulge in the following interesting activities when visiting Pahalgam – visit Club Park, Jamia Masjid, Gauri Shankar Temple, Zoo, Betaab Valley and Aru Village. Many go for camping at Lidder Valley and rafting at Lidder River or simply fishing Trout. The famous Amarnath Cave, the abode of Lord Shiva, is also situated here.
