It is considered to be the abode of Goddess Yamuna. It is situated at a height of 3293 meters in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The sacred thermal spring at Janki Chatti which is situated nearly 7 km away is the major attraction of the tour. There are two hot water spring named Surya Kund and Gauri Kund. The Surya Kund has boiling water whereas Gauri Kund has lukewarm water which is fit for bathing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The temple opens on Akshay Tritiya in May and closes on Yama Dwitiya in November. You will get only vegetarian food. It is one of the Jyotirlingas (symbol of light). There are 12 Jyotirlingas in Hinduism which are considered to be most revered. The temple which is situated at a height of 11,755 feet lies in the Indian province of Uttarakhand. It is closed in the winter season (November to April) due to heavy snowfall. During this period, the palki of with the utsava murti of Lord Kedarnath is taken to a place near Guptakashi called Ukhimath. It is one of the four pilgrimages situated in four corners of India \u2013 Rameshwaram in the South, Badrinath in the North, Jaganathpuri in the East, and Dwarakapuri in the West.
