The capital of India, Delhi, has a very rich and long history. It was under the rule of many powerful leaders, and has been the capital of their kingdoms as well. The Red fort was made more than 200 years ago by the Mughal emperor of India. Today the fort houses many museums. 2. Lotus Temple<\/p>\n

3. India Gate<\/p>\n

India Gate is a war memorial located on the Raj Path. It was constructed in memory of the 82000 soldiers of British Indian Army, who laid their lives in the First World War. Between 7 pm and 9.30 pm, the memorial is lit up, and forms a sight to see.<\/p>\n

4. Jantar Mantar<\/p>\n

Jantar Mantar is a sundial built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur. It was used for various astronomical calculations, and to predict the movement of various celestial bodies.<\/p>\n

5. Qutub Minar<\/p>\n

The Qutub Minar in Delhi, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The height of the tower is 74 meters, and is the second largest “minar” in India, after Fateh Burj in Mohali. The construction work was started in 1199 CE.<\/p>\n
