Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong (140 kms / 4 hrs drive approx). En route witness the Umiam Lake (Barapani) - is the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya in midst of sylvan hills adorned by Khasi pines & peerless beauty. Boat Ride in Lake (at your own cost), boat ride is subject to rules by the Authority Evening free for leisure. Overnight in Shillong.
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, for an awesome day trip. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Sohra, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem view point for mesmerizing views of the Hills.In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later take a soft cave walk inside the Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Eco park , Ramakrishna Mission . Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.
After breakfast drive to Mawlynnong Village known as the cleanest village in Asia and the God’s own Garden. On arrival, visit the Living Root Bridge, a natural bridge formed with the roots of the trees. A little hiking is required to see the magnificent bridge (hiking approx 1 hour). Then visit the balancing rock, a small stone holding a big rock by balancing it on above it and the Tree House (watch tower) made by the local people of the village. Drive Further 30 Kms from Mwallynong to reach Dawki. Dawki, name is famous because of international trade border town to Bangladesh. The Drive to Dawki is a beautiful drive along with Bangladesh border, covered with betel nut trees and a thrilling experience to drive around lots of waterfalls. You can see people from Bangladesh working and fishing in this river being in Indian Border. Before reaching the bordering town you will came across with this blue-water river which is known as Umngot river. Dawki village is known for limestone business and other international trade with Bangladesh and weekly market allows people from both sides to tread their stuffs. Return back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
After Breakfast proceed to Kaziranga National Park – The land of one horned rhino. On arrival at Kaziranga, check into hotel and stay overnight at Kaziranga.
Early morning proceed for the exclusive jeep safari & elephant safari at any of the range (Eastern/Central- Subject to Availability & Timing). Explore the wildlife of Kaziranga specially the pride of Assam, One horned Rhinoceros, Wild Buffalo, Hog Deer, Swamp deer, red headed bill and various flora and faunas. Return back to hotel by lunch. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Morning drive to Bomdila that is situated at an altitude of 8000 ft. From here one can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range.On the way visit Tippi On the banks of the river JiaBhoroli at an elevation of 190 mtrs is Tipi, an orchidarium with over 7500 orchids. On display are some of the finest species with names like the Dainty Lady's Slipper or the more formal sounding Dendrobium. Arunachal has the largest range of orchids in the country.Check in the hotel on arrival. After lunch visit Bomdila Monastery (Upper Gompa). Bomdila offers wonderfully panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges. Evening you can visit the local market. Overnight stay Bomdila.
Morning after breakfast, drive to Tawang (10,000 ft). En route witness the unique Dirang Valley famous for its monasteries, Also witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 13700 ft, the Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Jung Falls. Overnight in Tawang.
JaswantGarh War Memorial : Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th BatallionGarhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place.
SelaPass: @13700 ft, the Sela Pass is is snow-covered (full or partial) all through the year and has breathtaking mystic views. Close to the Pass is the beautiful Sela Lake, a heart-shaped lake chiseled between the mountains, which intensifies the beauty of the region. The Lake is mostly frozen in winter. The Sela Pass is the main route to access Tawang town and is located 78 km before reaching Tawang.
Jung Falls :The Nuranang falls (original name) @6000 feet is located about 40 km before reaching Tawang is famed as one of the most stunning waterfalls in North East India. The falls height is about 100 meters. The legend about the waterfalls goes that it is named after a Monpa girl Nura who aided an Indian soldier during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
After breakfast drive high above town to the high altitude lakes of Pangong Tang Tso (popularly known as PT Tso). This is an extremely scenic drive with bird’s eye view of the township below. Then visit famous Tawang Monastery. The 300 year old Monastery, locally called "Gompa" is considered to be the oldest in India and second largest Monastery in Asia after Lhasa in Tibet. Return in time for lunch. Post lunch enjoy the day at leisure. Walk into the town and do some shopping. Or you could go exploring on your own. You can visit the Craft Center and traditional Monpa Village, Joginder Singh War Memorial. Dinner and overnight at Tawang.
Start early in the morning for Dirang. Continue your drive and do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views. Check in to your hotel. After lunch visit the regional apple Nursery, kiwi farm, dzong (fort), hot water spring. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Today early morning, drive to Bhalukpong/ Tezpur, Upon arrival, check into the hotel.Overnight stay at the hotel.
After Breakfast proceed to Guwahati. On arrival visit Kamakhya Temple and enjoy the boat ride in Brahmaputra river for visiting Umananda Temple situated in a small river island in Brahmaputra. Check in at hotel and relax. Rest of the time is free at leisure. Overnight at Guwahati.
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati airport/railway station to depart by for your home destination. Tour ends with sweet memories conducted by Heena Tours & Travels.
